Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (2023)

Covenants play a huge role in every Dark Souls game as they are the gateway to multiplayer engagement.

While the actual choice of covenant doesn't affect gameplay that much - aside from a few auto-invasions or another phantom color, it's the rewards that really set them apart!

Rewards are given twice based on your rank - one at rank 1 for offering 10 of the Covenant-specific item, and another at rank 2 after offering 30.

But what are the rewards? And which ones are the best? In this list I will look at themat– the good, the bad and the must-have!

13.Great Lightning Spear

Warrior of Sunlight Rank 2

I can't find nearly enough people complaining about this miracle online.

Aside from needing it for the DS3 platinum trophy, I've never sought this marvel as it takes quite a lot30acquiring medals and is just a severely inferior version of Sunlight Spear!

Sure, you have to defeat the last boss for the Sunlight Spear, but 30 medals is even more difficult in my opinion, so let's take our last spot.

12.Big deep soul

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (2)

Aldrich Treu, Rank 1

Great Deep Soul is a dark sorcery that fires a slow-moving, high-damage projectile at your target!

It's sad to see this one so far down this list, but since the Ringed City DLC added the strictly better Greater Soul Residue spell, this spell is simply no longer necessary.

To make matters worse, a large amount of soul residue is being found. As opposed to grinding the human dregs for this inferior version.

While not as obnoxious as the Great Lightning Spear, it still sits close to the bottom of the barrel.

11.Greatshield of the Wolf Knight

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (3)

Farron's Watch Dogs, Tier 2

In similar redundancy, the Wolf's Greatshield is quite overwhelming, requiring a huge one30sword grass…

It may be 100% physical blocking, but falls short with its all-round elemental defense, making it unexcellent at any particular job.

To make matters worse, it has less stability than a decent chunk of the other big shields!

However, it's a good fad and has a small passive niche of granting the wearer a resistance bonus stat, so it's not quite the worst thing.

10.Dunkelmond-Ring

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (4)

Blades of the Darkmoon Faire Tier 1

The Darkmoon Ring is a rarely used piece of gear that adds 2 additional attunement slots to your build.

It's not entirely useless, but thanks to DS3's ashen Estus system, you'll probably only need a handful of spells at all!

Personally I use it a lot because I forgot to level attunement when respecting my character...

For most, however, it's just a stepping stone to the coveted Darkmoon Blade marvel.

9.Blutdurst

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (5)

Mound Maker, Tier 1

Bloodlust is a fantastic katana that boasts some of the highest bleed damage in the entire game - especially when combined with its unique ability.

So why number 9?

Well, when you use the ability, you stab yourself in the stomach.

That makeslargedamage and may even bleed procyou yourself.

And while you get +200% bleed damage and 30% weapon AR in return, the AR buff still makes this weapon weaker than most katanas thanks to its low base attack.

It's fantastic against bleed-weak enemies and seesveryNiche use in PvP, but other than that it's better to use something else.

8.warmth

Mound Maker, Rank 2

Let's face it for a second - mound builder rewards just aren't very good.

Heat is a pyromancy awarded after offering 30 Spine Shackles, and creates a gently floating flame that heals HP in an area.

It's the only healing pyromancy, so it must be useful, right?

Well, it also heals enemies.

So no.

The healing is pretty slow too, so won't save you in most scenarios, and the healing amount doesnotscale with your stats.

Plus if you build a Pyroyou have faith! Onlyuse a miraclewhen you are so desperate!

7.Wolfsring

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (7)

Farron's Watch Dogs, Tier 2

The wolf ring bestows poise—which is apoint of many guessesamong DS3 fans.

Unlike the original Dark Souls installment, the stance in this game only workswhile you attack, which means you can't just shrug off blows while running around the world.

And while this doesn't seem as useful as it once did, it's still very important in combat, as it determines whether you can trade hits with an opponent or be stunned from your swing.

But much like the previous spell entries, this ring is outperformed by the +3 version found in Ring City, which grants more than double the effect - although it doesmuchlater game.

6.blackout ring

Rosarias Finger, Rang 1

If you've read our list of top rings to try, you'll know that this one is great for messing with humans during invasions.

The blackout ring makes youcompleteinvisible to enemy players more than 10 meters away!

This is perfect for hiding when being ganked or snagging enemies from miles away and can lead to some really fun moments!

There are entire builds dedicated to long-haul one-shots, and I highly encourage you to try a few for yourself!

5.Great Staff of the Archdeacon

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (9)

Aldrich Treu, rank 2

The Archdeacon's Great Staff is very similar to the Golden Ritual Spear, except this is a pure catalyst and not a spear hybrid.

This staff makes magic you cast, in faith! It also hits a really good spell buff.

And while you may still need to invest in the intelligence required to use the sorcery, most of them have a surprisingly low requirement!

It's a great tool to play around with and you'll be surprised how good it can be.

It opens the doors to a whole range of new hybrids.

4.Man-Grubs Stab

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (10)

Rosarias Finger, Rang 2

Staying with the catalysts, another interesting one is the Staff of the Man Pit - which causes sorcery to scaleLuck.

This staff has a great spell buff and also requires minimal intelligence investment for most sorceries.

This is actually one of my favorite staves in the game just because it adds a bit more variety to lucky builds. It's likely that most players haven't even considered them as an option, but trust me, they're really fun!

3.Old curved wolf sword

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (11)

Farron's Watch Dogs, Tier 1

I hate this sword. It destroys me in PvP.

However, the Old Wolf's Curved Sword is a really cool weapon - in addition to its B-Scale Index and awesome comboable Weapon Skill, it has the built-in effect of both Pontiff Eye Rings!

Continuous attacking heals you and increases your damage by 10%!

Even cooler, you don't have to beusethe weapon, just carrying it on your back triggers the effects! You don't even need the stats requirements.

I've had this on my back during my challenge runs for a few boss fights - you'd be surprised how effective the passive abilities are!

2.holy oath

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (12)

Warrior of Sunlight Rank 1

The fact that you get this marvel in front of a big lightning spear is a sick, sick joke.

Holy Oath only requires 10 Sunlight Medals and is one of thepreferablymiracles in the game.

It increasesatSources of damage to you and surrounding allies by 10%, and also reduces damage taken by 10%!

It's a must-have for Faith builds that focus on melee combat. Note, however, that the effect is halved during PvP, so it's not as useful there.

1.Dark Moonblade

Best Covenant Rewards in Dark Souls 3: All 13 Rewards, Ranked - FandomSpot (13)

Blades of the Darkmoon Faire Tier 2

And here it is, the best reward.

Now before you say, "Darkmoon Blade is identical to Lightning Blade and so much harder to get!" I have to stop you.

It makes my stuff sparkle.

It's all about fashion, and Darkmoon Blade is itlighthands down the best looking weapon buff.

(It's also a fantastic damage increasing buff I think)

Get itis a pain, although.

Blades of the Darkmoon has an issue where it rarely summons players, so most of the time you'll be grinding the extremely low drop chance of Silver Knights in Anor Londo.

did i do it Yes. Did it take hours? Also yes. Was it worth it?And.
